Spend Time Outside this May

Here in beautiful Washington, D.C., there are always plenty of events and activities happening in the community, especially as our days continue to get warmer and warmer. This spring is no exception, and here at 450k, we couldn’t be more excited!

Spring means we can finally spend some serious time outdoors, and luckily there’s no shortage of events to enjoy. The Flower Mart at the Washington National Cathedral is happening the first week of May, and promises to be a blast for the entire family. Come experience the stunning showcase of blooming flowers, along with rides, food, shopping, and more. Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, is also happening the first week of May, and features an incredible day of joy, laughter, and a guarantee of messiness. Attendees can throw colored powders that turn everyone various shades of the rainbow, a perfect celebration of color and fun.

If you’re more of a music lover, no fear - the Funk Parade will be making its way through D.C. this month. A parade turned music festival, this day-long fair features funk musicians that perform both during the parade and after its conclusion, around seven pm. Prepare to dance the night away, as these musicians might provide funk until the sun comes up!

D.C. is also known for its outdoor movie nights, located along the Potomac River and in various parks around the city. Check out D.C. Outdoor Films or Movies on the Potomac to find your favorite showing, as there are plenty of options to choose from. Perfect for date night, this is a must for the outdoor experience in D.C.

We hope you have an amazing spring kick-off this May, and enjoy all the different things Washington, D.C. has to offer!
