Go Ice Skating at the National Sculpture Garden This Holiday Season

Did you have a chance to go ice skating last year? The circumstances of 2020 might’ve kept you away from the rink, but Ice Skating at the National Sculpture Garden has officially returned for the 2021 season! Now through March 6th, the rink at the National Gallery will be open every day (except for December 25th and January 1st) starting at 11 a.m., staying open until 11 p.m. on weekends and 9 p.m. on weeknights.

Surrounded by beautiful works of art and twinkling lights, skaters can lace up a pair of rentals ($5) or their own skates and take to the ice. While social-distancing is recommended, masks are currently only required inside of the Pavilion Cafe, where you can grab refreshments after your skating session. It’s $10 for two 45-minute sessions on the ice, which will begin on the hour with a 15-minute break in between to relax. Stash your stuff in a rental locker ($1) and enjoy the winter wonderland at the National Sculpture Garden this holiday season!
